CERTIFICATION

Content

The student ministry certification is a 13 month process with 12 sessions (1 session over 2 months of summer). The program will start in September 2024 and conclude with a recognition ceremony at the CDM NextGen Conference in October 2025. This certification will provide theological and practical training to encourage and equip participants for fruitful ministry with students and families. Each month an assigned topic will be taught by a seasoned youth coach through three 20 minute pre-recorded videos that the participant will watch on their own. Alongside the teaching videos there will be both a reading and practical homework assignment that helps the participant put into practice what he/she is working with each month. The certification content includes a theological foundation of youth ministry, developing a mission and vision statement, recruiting and training volunteers, communication, partnering with parents, and more! Cohorts are launched in September when the certification classes begin. There you will meet and connect with fellow participants who are beginning the certification process, as well as, meet with seasoned and veteran youth leaders. Each Cohort consists of roughly 5-6 participants and are designed so that participants can learn within a community of fellow youth workers.

Coaching

Along with finding a mentor within your church (Senior Pastor/Elder), you will also be provided a ministry coach each month who will not only teach and educate you on a given topic, but also provide feedback, encouragement, and discussions around your ministry context. Each of our coaches are experienced ministry practitioners who will both deliver great content and then lead practical discussions on how to implement these into daily practice.
